Our Great Dane Health Guarantee
Here, we take immense pride in the health, temperament, and longevity of our puppies. Every Great Dane we place is guaranteed to be in good health and free from any known infections at the time of adoption.
Our relationship with you doesn’t end once you take your puppy home. As a dedicated family of breeders, we are here to support you for the lifetime of your dog. While we strive for excellence through responsible breeding, a giant dog’s health is a partnership between our genetics and your daily care.
1. Genetic & Orthopedic Coverage
We specifically breed for structural soundness to support the massive frame of a Great Dane.
- One-Year Guarantee: Should your puppy be diagnosed with a life-altering genetic defect or severe Hip/Elbow Dysplasia within the first year, we will provide a replacement puppy of equivalent value from our next available litter.
- Certification: Diagnosis must be confirmed by a licensed Veterinarian via X-ray (for orthopedic issues) or appropriate clinical testing.
2. The “Gentle Giant” Special Provisions
Due to the unique physiology of Great Danes, the following conditions apply to this guarantee:
- Bloat (GDV) Awareness: We educate all our owners on the risks of Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus (Bloat). While we breed for deep-chested health, Bloat is often environmental. This guarantee covers congenital issues but does not cover Bloat resulting from improper feeding or exercise habits (e.g., vigorous exercise immediately after eating).
- Growth Nutrition: Great Danes grow at an incredible rate. This guarantee remains valid only if the puppy is kept at a healthy weight and fed a high-quality diet formulated for Large/Giant Breed Puppies to prevent bone and joint stress.
3. Your Responsibility for Health
To activate your Health Guarantee, the following steps must be taken:
- Initial Exam: Have your puppy examined by a licensed Veterinarian within 10 business days of arrival.
- Validation: Email a copy of this initial medical record to us within those 10 days.
- Preventative Care: You must maintain a regular schedule of vaccinations, heartworm prevention, and vet visits. Failure to provide standard preventative care will void this guarantee.
4. Pre-Home Inspections
Every puppy undergoes a comprehensive physical examination by our licensed veterinarian before joining your family.
- A Veterinary Health Report is issued on the day of departure to ensure the puppy is 100% fit for travel.
- If any health issue is detected prior to shipping, the puppy will not be delivered. You will be given the option to wait for a different litter or receive a full refund.
5. Exceptions
- This guarantee does not cover costs associated with routine care (spaying, neutering, or undescended testes).
- Injuries caused by accidents, neglect, or improper strenuous exercise (such as long-distance running) before the puppy’s growth plates have closed are not covered.
